“If you are not in the process of becoming the person you want to be, you are automatically engaged in becoming the person you don’t want to be.”
Dale Carnegie
We believe that the secret to a meaningful and joyful life is to successfully meet humanity’s four core needs in a balanced and integrated way. Unfortunately, the majority of us emerge from childhood with one or more unmet needs and love lost, launching us on a trajectory of pain and unhealthy coping strategies. Not only do some of us have unmet needs, but some have also suffered incredible loss or abuse, leaving us with scars in one or more of these spheres.
IHTC exists to help you identify those barriers that might be hindering you on your journey to a great life. It may be chronic pain, or addiction, or PTSD, or depression and anxiety, or broken relationships, or burnout, or a dead-end job. Using a multidisciplinary team approach, we will draw on the latest science and evidence-based medicine, as well as the new understanding about brain connections that become disrupted in our brokenness. We now know these disruptions can be reconnected using techniques and disciplines that leverage the neuroplasticity of the brain.
We offer consultations and services to serve you no matter where you are on your journey or whatever your faith background. We believe that everyone is given a divine destiny to leave the world better for all.
Inspired by the butterfly
Our inspiration for transformation is taken from the butterfly which must endure painful metamorphosis from a lowly caterpillar to a beautiful butterfly. That rebirth so aptly symbolizes how many of us come to the end of our rope before we admit our shame and brokenness, and seek help and healing. Only then, as we become more emotionally and relationally mature, can we display our true colours and fly to fulfill our God-given destiny. Just as the oh-so resilient mature Monarch butterfly flies all the way from Eastern Canada to Mexico in the fall, so we become whole and resilient regardless of what winds may try to blow us off course.
What is it like to be on the other side of you?
What is it like to be your spouse, or son or daughter, or co-worker, or fellow church member? What part of your character needs growth? Becoming more aware of your need, acknowledging it, and reaching out for help is where your journey begins. None of us have arrived and regardless of giftedness or education, we have blindspots and can benefit from counsel or mentoring. Our quest for personal growth toward greatness is lifelong.
