Spiritual Benefits of Exercise

“Agreement with God brings wholeness to us!”

We are created with a mind, body, soul, and spirit all in one body. When we exercise and move it allows our body to connect with our Creator as a form of worship. Romans 12:1 “And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.”

Every part of our body is connected to God, our source of life… In him we live and move and exist. “It is through him that we live and function and have our identity.” Acts 17:28

Benefits:
1. Allows You to Feel Alive and Happy—Allowing yourself to engage in fitness—more important than any physical results—will help you feel alive and happy. Not only can this benefit your mindfulness but also your overall health! Keep in mind that the better you feel from a physical perspective, the better your sense of well-being will be.

2. Involving yourself in any physical exercise can indeed help you mirror all of your:
• fears
• doubts
• and other hindrances in your life.
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10

3. Exercising Expands Your Comfort Zone— Exercise is one of the perfect ways you can do to challenge yourself and push your limits. Not only that, but this can also encourage you to expand your physical and mental thresholds. Sometimes God will push you to your limits because he has more faith in you than you have in yourself. There is nothing that you are given to experience in life that you are not equipped to handle. All your successes will come from all your experiences in life. Never give up on yourself or any dream that you have because even the obstacles to get there are all a part of your plan. So trust the creator who created you. You were designed to win!

4. It Tests Your Will— Each type of exercise will test your will. There will be times when part of yourself wants quit, but you keep going anyway. As fitness practice tests your will, it exercises your intention and strengthens your determination, overriding your strength. James 1: 2-4 “My fellow believers, when it seems as though you are facing nothing but difficulties, see it as an invaluable opportunity to experience the greatest joy that you can! For you know that when your faith is tested it stirs up power within you to endure all things. And then as your endurance grows even stronger it will release perfection into every part of your being until there is nothing missing and nothing lacking.” But if you do give up? Don’t be discouraged or see it as a defeat. Consider this different perspective, what you see as giving up can also be seen as a tactical retreat. So the next time you go at it, have that in mind, that this time: “I’ll do it.”

5. Exercise Gives You a Moment to Breathe— To get control of your breathing is extremely important which enables you to calm down, focus, and realign yourself with God’s rhythm 🎶 “This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Look! I am going to put breath into you and make you live again!” – Ezekiel 37:5 “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” – 1 Peter 5:7

6. It Quiets Your Mind Down— It slows your rhythm down to connect with his rhythm. This enables you to hear him speak to you and enables you make wise decisions. “Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10 His peace comes and rests on you as you quiet your mind. “And everything I’ve taught you is so that the peace which is in me will be in you and will give you great confidence as you rest in me. For in this unbelieving world you will experience trouble and sorrows, but you must be courageous, for I have conquered the world!” John 16:33
