Wired for connection

The Covid-19 pandemic has really shown us how much we need each other. Now, a year in, many of us are weary of Covid fatigue and the lack of in-person contact with family and friends.

It is for good reason. We are wired for connection. As infants, we develop the brain wiring, especially in the right brain, to connect with our primary caregiver, usually our mom.

Research has shown that when that brain wiring is healthy because our relationship with our primary caregiver is “secure,” we are more likely to thrive in adulthood.

When it is “insecure,” as it was for Cate (see an excerpt from her full story), life can be hard.

But the good news is, with help and healing, there is hope. There is no condition, or emotion, or pain, for which one cannot embark on a journey of healing with hope.

IHTC exists to help you find your way on that journey.

Compassionately,

Dr. Hank Visser
